Dr. Easton specializes in adult education and human resource development in both domestic and international settings.


Dr. Herrington's teaching and research focus on the politics and policies of educational reform with a particular emphasis on the role of the state and has examined accountability, school finance, school choice and comprehensive children’s services among others.

Dr. Iatarola's research focuses on school finance, resource allocation, accountability, performance and costs. She is particularly interested in urban education and has concentrated much of her research efforts on New York City's public schools.


Dr. Kolbe's interests and areas of expertise focus on conceptual and empirical analyses of education policy reform and resource allocation at the state, district and school levels.

Dr. Schwartz's research interests include issues of women and minorities in higher education, the history of higher education, and research on student concerns.

Dr. Southerland's research includes an examination of the learning of nature of science knowledge. the role culture plays on the learning and teaching of science, and the ways in which teachers own sense of discontentment shape their professional development.
